In September 1996, Joseph M. Schlupp, began his career by serving his internship at Baron Rowland Funeral Home and received his license the following year. He has been with the funeral home ever since. In November of 2002, Joe was appointed Supervisor at Baron Rowland and remained on staff as Funeral Director. It was here that Baron and Barbara Rowland demonstrated to Joe the importance of community involvement and helped to instill in him the strong commitment that he has to the Abington community. Joe has been instrumental in administering the giving of tens of thousands of dollars through the York Children’s Foundation to various youth-centered nonprofits in the area, including the YMCA, Abington Library, and Briar Bush Nature Center.
Joe has lived in the greater Philadelphia area all his life and has been a resident of Abington since 2002. He has been active in many local civic organizations, including serving on the board of the YMCA, as an active member of Jenkintown Rotary, for which he was President, a member of the Abington Hospital business board, and an avid supporter of Briar Bush Nature Center. Joe is known in the community for his wonderful sense of humor, his generosity, and his amazing Christmas decorations.
