Student Community Service Award Honorees
Sheehan Daniel Scarborough

Sheehan Daniel Scarborough has a clear sense of and desire for social justice. His intellectual abilities and his extraordinary ability to communicate his ideas have enriched his school and local community. He has used his leadership skills to serve the executive board of the Abington High School Student Council and attended various conferences, including the Montgomery County Student Council Forum that raised money for the impoverished children of our county. He is involved with the administrative board of the Citizens And Police Together (C.A.P.T.) group and was elected its secretary. Sheehan plays the string bass and participates in the Abington Chamber Orchestra that travels to nursing homes and honorary events to perform and raise money for the Abington Scholarship Fund. He is a semifinalist in the National Achievement Award Scholarship and a finalist in the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad. Sheehan has been recognized for his outstanding academic achievements and community service by receiving the Presidential Award for Service and the Harvard Book Prize Award for outstanding scholarship and excellent character and leadership skills.
