World Day of Prayer The first Friday of March has been designated World Day of Prayer. It is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions and from more than 170 countries and regions, who come together in places of worship around the world to observe a common day of prayer each year. Men, women, and children are all invited to these services. The same divine service is used in every place. It promotes fellowship, understand, and action. Check with local churches for area services. This year's theme is "United Under God’s Tent," written by the women of Paraguay.

17 St. Patrick's Day Commemorates the patrol saint of Ireland who served as this country's bishop for 30 years and died on March 17, 461. Originally a Roman Catholic holy day, it has evolved into more of a secular celebration. It has been celebrated in the United States since 1737.
