The EAC advises the Township’s Board, agencies, and community on environmental issues and promotes a healthy and energy efficient community by developing sustainability, open space preservation, green schools, park clean-ups, and storm water management initiatives to save energy dollars and protect the environment.

Rain Barrel Town Project: Youth volunteers repurpose donated industrial food grade drums into high quality and very affordable rain barrels, offering 30+ colors and custom designed art barrels.  Info at

The Great Abington Clean-up/Keep America Beautiful and Earth Day events for volunteers to clean up and beautify local parks and recreational areas.
Stream bank restorations for volunteers to protect Abington’s three watersheds and streams.
Periodic community workshops on greening your lawn and organic gardening, rain barrels and rain gardens, and energy efficiency to protect the environment.
Food collections for ACT Organizations at free Township Electronics Recycling and Paper Shred events.
